Howdy friends,
I am coming to you nestled under a blanket with hot cocoa in hand trying to stay warm. Frank and I just got back from the dog park and BOY is it ever chilly! Although it's cold, this time of year always hits differently as the weather gets cooler, our hearts get a little warmer as we stay cuddled inside. (cheesy I know)
This last week I had the opportunity to do makeup at the Summer Slumber Retreat, hosted by Brina, and as always it was delightful. This year was a little bit different due to CoVid, but overall was just as fun to be a part of! Hosted in the mountains we were able to experience typical Alberta, such as enjoying fall and winter all within 3 days! Monday it went back and forth between crisp fall to blizzarding and Tuesday was overall pretty mild, whilst Wednesday hit us with the full on winter wonderland! A tip if you’re not from around here, always prepare for any kind of weather as it is constantly changing in the mountains.
The SS Retreat is put on for photographers to have a chance to learn from Brina when it comes to SEO, business marketing, photography education etc. There are always styled shoots for the photographers to take photos of and often they get headshots as we’ll. Which is where I come in. I’ve been lucky enough to have the pleasure of glamming up the models and attendees for 3 retreats now, from Golden to Arizona and now Canmore! I always love doing the retreats because I get to meet and connect with so many amazing people from all over the world and of course do their makeup which I’m so passionate about.
